Freeport

river and bridge in main line canal greenway

This riverside town is located at the meeting point of the Allegheny and Kiskiminetas Rivers. The town became known as Freeport after its founder insisted that “no dockage fee will ever be charged to tie up a boat, raft or barge.” To this day, the Freeport hub offers access to the rivers for large and small craft recreation. Nearby biking and biking trails, including the Baker Trail, Butler to Freeport Community Trail and the Tredway Trail, converge at this jewel of a town.
